I will guarantee you this, if you've ever experiences tendonitis or tendinopathy from golfers elbow or tennis elbow in either your forearm extensors, or flexor muscles, you will agree that it is definitely worth strengthening your arms properly.
In my professional opinion, having trained corporate professionals through to professional athletes, I believe it's not just necessary, it's essential.
Particularly if you play golf, tennis or are a rock climber. These sports in particular, require a high level of conditioning in the forearm muscles.
Skipping the foundation conditioning will almost certainly lead to an acute impingement injury at some point.
The properly strengthen the forearms you must strenghten:
1. Wrist flexion and extension (see earlier video)
2. Wrist supination and pronation
3. Grip crushing
4. Grip pinching
5. Finger spreading
Plus, increase wrist mobility in all directions. In this short video, Yani and FMS coach Kaliesha demonstrate the wrist supination to pronation movement using a club bell.
